Meaning of Lal Tibba: Seeing the Sun from the summit of Lal Tibba, along with the Sun at sunrise, the higher peaks of the surrounding mountains, as seen from Lal Tibba, also turn orange in colour, and the evening at sunset, due to which its name is given. Lal and Tibba mean the highest peak, and this peak is the highest peak of Mussoorie, due to which it got the name Lal Tibba. At sunrise and sunset, the colour of the top of the mountain, including the Sun, is orange and red; it occurs in only two places in the world, one which is Lal Dune and the other is Switzerland.

Location: It is about 8 km from Mussoorie in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand, India. The top of Depot Hill is located at Landour, the highest peak of Mussoorie, and Gun Hill Point, the second highest peak of Mussoorie.
